Propably you already know this because you are reading this post in English, but I don't care. :D
Let me tell you a funny thing I saw at many of the courses I chose at UBC, especially at Sauder. It looks like every course has alumni that achieved something great. And every professor is convinced that this was only possible because of his or her impact on their life, education and more. It happened to me a few times that one of the first sentences a Prof said in the first lecture, was "many students who took this course are now working in [insert course topic here] and are really successful".
To be clear: I do believe them and what surprises me, is that the Professors obviously know what there former students do after they graduated, which is something, I would not expect from any German professor. The one thing that makes me think about this sentence, is that it should look like, that (sometimes mandatory) classes made people successful in their (business) life. The message is "you are on the right way", "you will be successful too" or "I'm the best teacher you ever had" (and please write that in your evaluation).
Being proud of their former students is great. But maybe that's a bit too much...?
